Also see: http://www.ilance.ca/forum/bugs.php?do=showdetails&id=617If a new (or a inexperianced) user placed a bid, I'm afraid he/she will get lost in the buying.php menu. I think the user interface can be more intuitive if a progress-step indicater is added.
If there would be some sort of graphical bar indicating where a buyer (or seller) is in the proces.
1____2____3____4-----5----6----7----8
On this way the user can see where he/she is in the process and and know what steps should be done next or who should do the next step (seller or buyer).
If the users clicks on the process-step number, he/she wil be directed to the point where the next action is required.
I thought about it again. I try to answer the question "why is it that the users interface isn't intuitive". I came up with the answer that process-actions should be done on different ways.
Award process:
selection of radio button > puldownmenu > confirm button.
Finish work:
Klick on text in a colum
Submit feedback:
Click on a icon (somewere else) in the table
Accept an awarded bid:
click text in the next colum (in the awarded tab)
I can folow the current steps, but could imagine a more intuitive way. If I have to search (once in a while) my way through the menu's, my customers will defenitely will or worse leave my marketplace.
An other thing that buzzes me.
If feedback should be submitted, than in the status colum there is the "leave feedback" But if clicked Nothing happends (in other occations it initiated an action). Users should click the feedback Icon.
So, it's hard to find out where to go to continue with the next step (for the firsttime or inexperianced user).
Please share your thoughts (hopefully I'm not the only one.....)
