ILance 3.0.0 to VBulletin Auction Syndication

Over the past week, some of you may noticed a new forum category added to the list of existing ILance forum categories. One of the categories recently implemented was the " ILance to VBulletin Forum XML Integration (http://www.ilance.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=69) " forum.

This forum was created as an attempt to extend the RSS/XML feed capabilities of the ILance software so that every new auction posted in your ILance powered v3.0.0 marketplace would result in new "Topics/Threads" that are created on your actual VBulletin powered forum (with full category support to only obtain certain auctions within the ILance categories into specific categories on your VBulletin forum).

You will notice within this forum: http://www.ilance.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=69 you will see 3 new categories:

Service Auctions (have a few test projects right now.. go have a look)
Product Auctions
LanceKB - Articles
Each of these categories were created to allow a syndication of new information on your ILance marketplace to be sent to your actual VBulletin forum. The Forum will (every 10 minutes) connect to your ILance XML feed (http://v3.ilance.ca/rss.php?cmd=syndication&subcmd=serviceauctions&sid=all&limit=15) area to pull any new auctions or content to be sent to your forum. As per example, you could create a "Web Design" category on your forum and the only information displayed within this forum is auctions within the Web Design category from your ILance marketplace. The point is this can be used in any manner you see fit; what's more --- It's completely free.

The first phase of this operation has been completed. As you will see, the auctions from our ILance demo site [v3.ilance.ca] will be sent to the ILance Forum within the categories you define.

If you would like to test drive this feature, simply register on the v3.ilance.ca demo site, post a service auction within [web design and development] and give it 10 minutes to show on the ILance forum within that category. It will do 3 things:

1. Tag the title of auction in your VBulletin forum like [mysite.com] Title of Auction
2. The "description" of the ILance auction will be shown as the description of the forum article.
3. Below the description, will be a link back to your marketplace to the actual detailed auction page on your marketplace.

ILance hopes this move will provide greater interaction with your marketplaces and customers that actually have a lot of activity on their forums. This will allow you to integrate an auction atmosphere within your forums to be linked directly back to your new marketplace to place bids, review proposals, etc. In the end, this is a seamless operation and works very nice.

We hope others find this as useful as we do ;)

Regards,
Peter

I think this is an excellent integration. Personally I may introduce a forum some time into the launch of my site, after it has hopefully become successful and I can afford the time to manage it. It's always been something I hoped to intergrate in the future and this will make it much easier :)

Can the ILance script be modified to share the vBulletin user database (so people don't have to login/register twice)? I am willing to pay for this modification if it does not come with the script as standard.

Thank you in advance.
