Hi
Very impressed with what I've seen and read about iLance so far, and am thinking of a purchase. However, the customization worries me a bit. A complex script like this must take a while to fully master.
Is there any way I could get a manual to read through so as to check for myself if it would work for me.
You may PM me.
Thanx in advance
Hi,
I have sent a PM with the link to view the manual, ILance can be customized in all aspects of code and design, and almost all settings are configurable via the admin panel to accomodate various business ideas,
Have a look and let us know your thoughts
thanks

Hi Sidekick,
Welcome to ILance forum ;)
Nah, the code is OOP, easy peasy for you and/or your programmer. What you'll really like about ILance is that we seperate our presentation layer (html) from our logic layer (php). That way you can focus on what matters most - your headers, footers and any CSS you wish to author for your ultimate look and feel without the burden of dealing with messy code, bad logic, inproper syntax and the list goes on. What it sounds like is you need a solid framework to give you complete control over every aspect of your marketplace. ILance gives you that and more.
Customization of the code is what ILance is all about! For example, the framework is prepared to let your developer create great addons and modifications using our built in plugin manager. Basically, your custom PHP code used to modify, alter, remove or reduce all sits in tidy XML files which are read during parsing and executes when they are required. Why? so you can continue to be supported, receive updates, security patches without the loss of any modification you create. That's the beauty of ILance. We understand everybody has different needs. We've focused many years on perfecting the architecture of how you can stay updated, and completely revamp your system based on changes you need to make most.
Take a look at our products page. We have already created many popular addons using this built-in framework, from LanceKB (knowledge base) to LanceAlert - Windows 32-bit app which communicates with ILance via sockets is only an example of what can really be accomplished with the ILance framework.
If you want to see some code examples, feel free to private message me. Everything is PHPdoc'ed so you will not have a problem modifying the ILance product to suit your business model - from code to templates, everything is 100% customizable.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter
Erin did PM the manual link to me. Thanx
Upon purchase, do you get it with templates?
Can one add different payment processors, e.g. setcom.com?
I think templates and full templating instructions would help a great deal.
Kind regards

Yes. I'm sorry if I confused you but I wanted to let you know that not only is it 100% customizable, you are not going to deal with headaches in terms of designing HTML. Why mix the two? it's pointless and hard for designers and deveopers alike.
ILance in it's stock version as seen on demo.ilance.com is a fully 100% complete product that offers you to launch a powerful marketplace that supports not only service reverse auction, but forward auction as well (similar to ebay, uBid, uShip, etc). The "framework" as I was speaking about is situated where you are in a position to take the stock nature of ILance, and make it what you want. Because ILance does services and products, there is no limitation as to what type of marketplace you want to set up.
You want a business directory? ILance has that.
You want to have a platform to let your providers bid for projects? ILance does that.
You want to let your buyers put in a max proxy bid for an item they want via Product Auction? it does that too.
You want to have ILance be a lowest unique bidding platform? similar to SilverTag and many others, it does that too.
But the main thing is not only does ILance do that above, it does so much more, and it's completely supported by people that that enjoy working with and for ILance.
The point is ILance is complete. The templates do that above. If you want to remove, add, modify or extend - you can. That is all I was trying to point out.

Yes. For that, you will need a programmer that can review existing payment processor support within the software as it sits now, and can add to it where need be. If it's PHP and you've got a real PHP programmer, you are not limited to our existing set of payment processing provider support within ILance.
We do however offer a wide variety of existing ones. Too easy to add your own if need be.
Let me know if you have additional questions. ILance is built and priced to sell.
Regards,
Peter
