Please post in this thread if you have any questions or comments about our upcoming ILance 3.0.0 marketplace software product.

Here is a Flash slideshow presentation (http://v3.ilance.ca/expose/expose.html) of the new client and administration areas.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! (http://v3.ilance.ca/) http://ilance.ca/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Just a quick question, what would you recommend the best way to upgrade to 2.6 whilst keeping all language and configuration changes intact? I know you have suggested a full reinstallation of 2.6, but with quite a bit of work done on the backend of my site I don't want to lose it all again. Can I do a fresh installation without flushing out the database?

I'll write a tutorial soon as I return on Tuesday. It will demonstrate the DB tables you shouldn't delete (select) in order to not replace your languages, users, auctions, accountdata, and few other aspects of a *Valid* user created account.

Thanks for your continued patience.

Peter

Peter,
I installed 2.6, log in from the client side and the infobar in popping up saying I am not registered and the "My CP" link doesn't show up. However, to determine if I am logged in I try to connect to accouting.php and I am logged in. I was able to view my transactions etc.

Any help?

Very weird.

I *just* logged into v3.ilance.ca, (it auto-logged me in) so at first it did not show me the infobar. I then clicked "LogOut" and it logged me out, returned me to the main login page. I then clicked "Main" to show me the main menu and the infobar was showing.

If you goto Admin CP, click Languages > Templates > Common Templates and find the "topnav" bit, could you cut and paste into a reply?

I'm just wondering if your templates imported okay during the install. I'm actually about to compose a tutorial for 2.6 installation script demonstrating how to "Not" remove certain tables for your users, accounts, auctions, etc. (basically an upgrade howto).

But to answer your actual problem, I'm not 100% sure. Try posting the code and we'll see what we can determine. (wrap it around the HTML code tags .. like [ html ] [ / html ] (but not spaces).)

Peter

Just to clarify, i'm happy with redeveloping most aspects of the site besides the language templates. If I install 2.6, will it ask me to select which tables to overwrite? If so, would I deselect these tables?

_language
_language_phrasegroups
_language_phrases

Yes, that should do it for the language phrases. For sure.

Before you do anything, it's best you take measures to quickly backup your db. This only takes a few seconds from phpMyAdmin.

I'm getting ready to compose the how-to for other scenerios as well. But for your scenerio, yes, this should also speed up install/update. :)

here is the InfoBar code Peter:

<if condition="(!isset($_SESSION['user_id']) AND $application != $ilpage['registration'] AND $application != $ilpage['login'])">
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="tborder">
<tr>
<td>
<div id="infobar"><a href="{https_server}{ilpage[registration]}?rid=REGBAR">{_it_appears_you_have_not_yet_registered_with_our_marketplace}</a><embed src="infobar.wav" autostart="true" loop="0" hidden="true"></embed></div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</if>

Yes, I too would like to retain all the work I've done previously, so I'm looking forward to the tutorial.

However, I'm having the same issues with installation as before. I'm on a Mac and no install files were included in the download, so we could just upload them via ftp. Although maybe that's not a good idea at this point any way, with new database fields being added.

Also, the install program is still forcing me to install into a subdirectory. The Advanced tab is gray, so I am unable modify the URL.

It may be best to pay you to install it, since my old categories need loaded any way.

Thank you,
Chuck
