Hello,
Thanks for joining ILance Forum. Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) is a terrific combination to develop scripts and open source apps. I'm also a big fan of WAMP (Window, Apache, MySQL and PHP). WAMP allows you to configure your local windows machine and turn it into a server for local operations.
What type of contribution are you looking to become involved in?
Regards,
Peter

I see. I've played with Joomla a few times. I like the admin nav menu and the ability to move blocks around, etc.
Have you developed any modifications for Joomla? If not, may I suggest something for you to look into?
How about a login bridge between ILance and Joomla (you know? when a client has Joomla installed and also has ILance .. and wants his/her users to be able to login and use the site under one central account)?
To me this requires some knowledge of how Joomla sessions and / or authentication works and then learning how the ILance stuff works to do this properly.
However, I just noticed you are showing up unlicensed... which means if we are going to do this we need to somehow get you licensed or you need to have a client on this forum that is licensed that can provide you proper forum control to post in technical ILance forums.
To be honest I'm not sure where this is all going ... perhaps if you could be more specific in terms of what you are interested in getting dirty with I'll be able to reply with more info. :)
Unfortunately ILance is not open source (meaning free to download) but it's provided to our clients in "visual open source" format once a license has been purchased. If you could give me some more information as to what type of position you'd like to see yourself doing I could help you in that direction.
As you might or might not be aware ILance actively seeks professional talent (design or programming wise) so if you are interested in learning more about working with or for ILance then please let it be known.
PS - ILance works with both, WAMP and LAMP.
Regards,
Peter

Okay sounds good.
I would be more than happy to assign some tasks to you but first I'd like to see some other scripts or modifications you've completed in recent weeks or months? (Joomla or other).
I hope that's not much to ask. ILance development and tasks are not hard but they are not easy either. This could perhaps show us the level of integration and or development you are currently producing so I know what types of assignments you are capable of working with.
Looking forward to your reply :)

PS - What we really need is designers that understand how the ILance template system works and how to customize headers and footers along with some CSS to make different colors, fonts, sizes, etc.
You see there are many things to get involved with. Just need to know where you are currently heading :)

Ok that fair enough :) so show some work you've done in the past as a reply here in the forum. Here's the thing:
If you can work php and understand how it works then sure there are plenty of clients and users on ILance looking for development work done.
If you don't, then this is a completely different story.....

I love Joomla and was actually thinking about making the front pages of the site in Joomla instead of basic html.
My idea is to create the homepage, help pages, news pages and a category listing page in joomla, all linked to different ILance pages.
Donīt get me wrong I am not offering myself to develop anything like what you mentioned above though ;) I donīt have the knowledge!
I am just curious to know if you think that my idea would work!

You can do this easy peazy :)
1. Install Joomla to your domain root
2. Install ILance to a folder (ie: /marketplace/ or /market/ or /auction/)
3. Do what you want for your Joomla Front page
4. Link what you want to your ILance folder / pages
5. Done! ;)
