Tired of spam mail?

I found an excellent resource on how to stop spam email coming to your inbox using tools within the Cpanel.

I'm big on "challenge / response" methods, where a spammer sends you an email, and your email server re-sends them an email to click a link to send you their original message. If you know the world of spammers, this is not some person sitting there, this is done by automating the process with multiple servers sending massive emails from "Zombie (inactive/unmanaged)" servers.

We had recently made the move from Plesk to Cpanel not too long ago, and lately I've been receiving more and more spam. I decided to do some research on cpanel to see what options are available.

(a little research goes a long way)...

There is a little option in your cpanel that is called "BoxTrapper". This feature allows this challenge response email to take action when somebody sends you email that is not in your whitelist. This is how I enabled my spam free inbox:

1. Logged into Cpanel
2. Clicked "Mail"
3. Clicked "BoxTrapper Spam Trap"
4. Found my email, and clicked "manage"
5. Enabled "BoxTrapper"

... so far so good.

Regards,
Peter
