Portfolio revamp:

1. portfolio item description:
- Curently one line box with up to 49 characters
- I suggest: text box (multiline) up to 1000 characters

2. Upload media (portfolio item). Currently we can opt only for One subcategory for each media. How about to

have multicategory option?

3. Portfolio Activity (Review)
I lack edit function for portfolio item (u can only delet and add new one). Date and time information is

considerable long (format: 09-May-2006 03:38:35). Let's save some space for category info (there is no

cat.info at this time). Additionaly I would be happy as a user to have quick per category filter.

4. UPortfolio Activity (Review) - only 5 item per page. Let's add up to 10 items per page.

5. Alert message once user reach portfolio limit (with suggestion to upgrade subscription).

6. Category filter option within user's portfolio [from user's POV, not from owner in this case]
I think that filter portfolio per category in showcase is GREAT. Why not to have the same for user's

portfolio ;-)

7. hyperlink-direction: if you search portfolio showcase (either by category or not) you see lot of

portfolio items and each of them has a
-picture (linked to his[vendor's] portfolio)
-name of vendor(linked to his profile)
-views and size

I suggest to have portfolio picture linked to item page (with bigger picture and description), rather than

to vendor's porfolio. [because user is probably interested in that item, and we are giving him another task

to search that item again within entire user's portfolio, which I judge as user unfriendly...
and then I suggest to have button-linked to user's portfolio on this portfolio {one} item page {currently

the link is in picture, which is not straightforward navigation}.

User name is linked to his profile and I would link it to his portfolio [from where user may check user

profile if he gets interested in his portfolio]

8. Porfolio item infodesign.
Within porfolio items in showcase I suggest to save some space putting "Views" and "Size" into one row (two

colums) and use the space for portfolio item description (maybe jus first 30-40 characters with "...more"

link to full description page.

9. Vendor's link.
If vendor is signed-in he doesnt need the links like> invite user or add user to watchlist. Instead it will

be good to have a link like "edit portfolio" (this link is at the botton of the page, which is too hidden).
I would also conisder to have "edit" link in each portfolio item for portfolio owner.

Kafi, I think it is better for a buyer to first view the profile (when he clicks the Username) before the viewing portfolio. In many businesses the portfolio (pictures) is not used and is more likely to be empty but profile (more like CV) is generally used. When the profile interests the buyer he can proceed to the Porfolio.

I hope I understood your argument (above) correctly. In general, your other suggestions are very agreeable.

Maybe it depends on what are you looking for by protfolio search.
I was thinking that if somebody is searching porfolio, he is interested first in something upon which he can pick a provider. Lets say you are looking for graphic designer, the first think you would go is to look for portfolios and if somebody has interesting pictures in portfolio, you might be also interested in his profile (to check out). But profile without portfolio review is "useless".
On the other hand if you are looking for untangible services that can not be presented by pictures (accounting etc.) you will not probably go to search trhrough the portfolio, but rather through profiles...
-----------------
I was sugesting, that by searching throughout the porfolio you will:
1. get clicking on the picture to the item iteself (with descript.)
2. get clicking on the name to the vendor's portfolio,
since the search is all about the portfolios as primary selection parameter [to find suitable provider].
But I agree that we can have also link to the profile. I think this link might be more usefull than information about nr. of views or size (this is not photoalbum, but marketplace .-) .... Anyway I find the information table too dominant against the picture - it is bigger than picture itself. I would go for usefull links under thumbnail picture than big and empty cells.

I agree with Delta!

It depents a lot on the market your in.
If you want to pick a provider, you first want te know a bit more about the company. To me that is general info. Text. If the situation fits, you might want to zoom into his portfolio.
