Referral - Affiliate system

Thinking of marketing my auction I think I would go also with affiilate program.

Can I use referral system for this? How IL referral system works? Is it recorded in cookies or it keeps track only for those who register directly within first visit?

I have no experience with affiliate systems but I would guess that they keep record in cookies and once user will register they credit affilate.... even more advance feature would credit only for those that register for paid subscription or once they upgrade to paid membership... (or pay out part of commision earned from member...).

Do you know any affiliatesystem that can handle this? Specially "pay out only for paid members" feature. It will probably need some sort of integration to ILance...

Ok I am here with this referral topic again.

I would like to ask somebody from ILance team to give me (either direction to or) introduction on how referral system works, how should I direct partners to implemet referral code, what trigger the payments etc.

Before I approache them I think I should know something about it. Manual doesn't say too much about it.
